Skylab: reach for the stars.
I want to take the time to promote a local business. Skylab Studios is absolutely the best studio in Gainesville. They are professional yet personable, and are actually extremely fairly priced. For $50 an hour with incredible deals on 3-hour blocks, 8-hour blocks, or 10-hour blocks, you end up making twice as much progress as you would have with a person who charges $25 an hour. So really, it’s a bargain. Get great-sounding recordings in half the time? I feel like I want to do their testimonial, or maybe even do some freelance work for them. I really would love that.
Point being, the expression, “you get what you pay for” could not be more accurate.
In addition to being so pleased with Skylab, I am also just so pleased with everything right now. Yes, I am inadvertently admitting I am pleased with myself. And I am pleased with myself because of the fact that I am creating incredible new music. I truly understand what it is to be a famous musician and tweet about your music: “Hey friends, I’m so excited about this amazing new song - recording now - can’t wait to show you!” and truly mean it.
I get so excited when I have new music to share. It’s like I’m giving everyone I know an opportunity to get to know me extremely intimately, and if they are worthy of it, they will give me responses I deserve in the form of fandom and friendship.
All right, time for bed. I have been pretty jet-lagged as it is.
But I will leave you with this: I thought of a new parable, inspired by one of my songs, “Machine.”
